Due to our new regulations in the US the Ultralight training program is coming to an end. All two seater ultralights will be grounded in January 2008 and Aliseo II will be delivered as an S-LSA Numbered aircraft and the new "Sport Pilot Weight-shift License" will be required to fly.

We have been helping current BFI/AFI ultralight instructors to get a Sport Pilot license before the January 2007 deadline, when all of their flying hours will be void and won't count for Sport Pilot.

The new Sport Pilot license is easy to get and it gives some extra advantages with the FAA, without requiring any medical exams.

How it works:

If you hold a valid Sport, Recreational, Private Pilot License or higher.

1- We will train you 5 hours on Aliseo II for a Proficiency checkride from one of our CFI instructors. No additional flight time is required.

All other, including expired ultralight BFI/AFI.

1- Get prepared for your Sport Pilot written test. The written test has 40 questions and can be passed at any local FAA facilities in our area. You can get prepared for the test here: www.preparetotest.com or there are several books available at Adventure Productions .

2- The FAA requires a total of 20 logged-in hours and two checkrides from a CFI and/or an Examiner. You can log your hours in ANY N-numbered Weight-Shift aircraft (land or sea). If you decide to start your training in a land trike you will need at least 5 hours of proficiency training on the Aliseo II to be qualified for a proficiency checkride. Starting the training on a land trike is a very good alternative. You will approach dealing with the water in the Aliseo with a good advantage and some flying experience that might turn the process easier and faster.
